It is also intended to facilitate further research and to extend material assistance to museums, archives, historical societies, exhibitions, and representatives of the media. Brant only hours before he was to receive his Medal of Honor to the murder of Elijah Strode, the lives of these 7th Cavalrymen is anything but boring. Together, their lives span from before the Civil War through Wounded Knee and up to the early 1950s. Even though their lives didn’t grab the headlines like General Custer, their stories are worth exploring, even more so in my opinion. Scott Nelson, Pierre, South Dakota, USA.
