Errol Flynn starred as the legendary English hero in the film 'The Adventures of Robin Hood' (1938), three years before he took on the role as George Armstrong Custer in the highly fictionalised film, 'They Died With Their Boots On'.
- Frank Stratton enlisted on 18 September 1875 at St Louis, Missouri, by Lt. John Thompson. Previous occupation a printer. Assigned to Company M, 7th Cavalry at Fort Abraham Lincoln, Dakota Territory, on 21 October 1875.
- He had hazel eyes, brown hair, a fair complexion, and was 5′ 5 1/2″ in height.
- He was in the valley and hilltop fights at the Battle of Little Big Horn and deserted from Fort Abraham Lincoln on 28 July 1877.
